The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and Wrangler 4xe offer an impressive 17 kWh battery for a 21-mile all-electric driving range on the Wrangler 4xe and 25 miles on the Grand Cherokee 4xe. To maximize efficiency and squeeze out every possible mile, both plig0in hybrid Jeeps and BEV Jeeps utilize regenerative braking, which captures energy during deceleration and puts it back into the battery.

Jeep doesn't force you to choose between gas and electric with their 4xe technology. It combines a traditional gasoline engine with an electric motor for dynamic power and extended range. In Hybrid Mode, the Jeep combines power from the 2.0L turbocharged engine and the electric motor to give you max horsepower, instant torque, and exciting acceleration. It starts with electric power first. When the battery has more than 1% charge, it switches to Electric Mode, which means it can go with almost zero emissions at highway speeds. The Wrangler 4xe can drive up to 21 miles in Electric Mode, and the Grand Cherokee 4xe can go up to 25 miles. In eSave Mode, it focuses on using the 2.0L engine to save battery for later. When you need less power, the engine shuts off, and you can adjust it to charge the battery more.

Jeep offers three charging solutions to fit your electric lifestyle, whether you own a plug-in hybrid or a battery-electric vehicle. Level 1 charging, which plugs into a regular outlet, is great for occasional charging but takes the longest (think 10 hours for hybrids, three days for electric vehicles!). Level 2 charging, installed at home, is significantly faster (around 2.5 hours for hybrids, 8-10 hours for electric vehicles) and uses the Free2move Charge Level 2 Charger. Finally, for electric vehicles only, DC fast charging stations (Level 3) deliver a charge the fastest (full charge in 15-60 minutes) and can be located and activated easily through the Free2move Charge app.
