2017 Dodge Charger at Len Stoler Dodge Chrysler Jeep for Westminster, MD

There are numerous sedan options on the market today, but the 2017 Dodge Charger stands out above them all as one of the more aggressive sedans. The Charger is appropriately named with its bull-like exterior and powerful engine, but it also succeeds at being extremely comfortable and practical with its five-passenger seating and spacious cargo area. Technology does not take a back seat in the Charger either. The vehicle comes equipped with the latest infotainment technology, the 4th generation Uconnect system. Furthermore, if you are really looking to differentiate from all other sedan owners, choose the 2017 Dodge Hellcat Charger in one of the new 2017 colors: Yellow Jacket, Green Go, Octane Red, or Destroyer Grey. The Hellcat model is truly the most powerful sedan on the market with its 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine.

Under the Charger's Hood

Out of the eight trims available for the 2017 Dodge Charger, the lower trims, the SE and SXT, have a 3.6-liter V6 engine, which puts out 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Next up are the R/T and Daytona trims, which both come equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 engine, which makes 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. The next three trims, the R/T Scat Pack, SRT 392, and Daytona 392, all have a 6.4-liter V8 engine. This engine puts out 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. Finally, as mentioned about, the SRT Hellcat trim maxes out the engine capacity with a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine. All trims come with rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission, although the SE and SXT do have an all-wheel drive option. Some unique features are found in the various trims. For example, the SRT has different drive modes where the driver can customize his/her driving experience by controlling transmission shift speeds, steering, horsepower, paddle shifters, suspension and traction. The R/T and Daytona trims are equipped with an electronically controlled active exhaust system that gives the engine a more distinct muscle-car sound.

Design of Dodge Charger

The overall shape of the 2017 Charger is noticeably familiar to the previous Chargers of the 1960's and 1970's, something many muscle-car lovers will appreciate. But, the car has definitely been modernized in many ways with its aerodynamic rounded nose and its racetrack taillight display. The interior is modern and comfortable, with ample leg room for both front and rear passengers. One of the most user-friendly features is the new Uconnect system, which offers Garmin mapping, fast Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, and pinch and swipe interfacing on the 8.4-inch touchscreen. The new Uconnect has a much faster startup time and the graphics on the screen are more vivid, making the ride in the 2017 Charger more convenient and fun.
